In the thrilling final week of the Hertford Wednesday 5-a-side Football league season, teams battled it out in the Premier League and Division 1 divisions.
The Premier League saw some exciting action. The match between Openview and Carrow Road Wanderers ended with a decisive 6-2 victory in favour of the Wanderers. Despite Openview's best efforts, the Wanderers' superior strategy and skill reigned supreme. In another intense game, KIAS triumphed over Pique Blinders with a well-earned 5-2 win. However, the match between The Red Lion FC and Gylfi Pleasure was the most hard-fought, ending in an 8-5 victory for Gylfi Pleasure.
However, the ultimate triumph in the Premier League division went to Pique Blinders. Despite their loss this week, their previous successes brought them a total of 32 points from 16 wins, crowning them as the season’s Premier League champions.
In Division 1, Inter Minan outplayed BGH in a high scoring match that ended 10-5. Mendy's House Party ran riot against Lovin Jesus, with an overwhelming 12-1 victory, while Werner On The Dancefloor defeated Netsix And Chill 9-4. Phils Cheesy Helm, unfortunately, found themselves on the wrong end of a 10-2 scoreline against Old Boys.
Werner On The Dancefloor took home the Division 1 championship title with a total of 24 points from 12 wins, demonstrating their mastery throughout the season.
As we close the season, we congratulate all teams for their fantastic performance and sportsmanship. The final week of Hertford Wednesday Football league was a spectacle of skill, strategy, and the love of the sport. We look forward to another season of intense rivalry and breathtaking football.
