Another fantastic night of quality 6 a side football unfolded last night in Havant as our Monday Night season starts to take shape. We had some new teams playing for the 1st time which is always exciting all 3 divisions look competitive which is always really important.
Former Prem Champions and last seasons runners up Cardiac Arrest have made a perfect start to this campaign with 2 good wins. They got the better of MK Dongs in a high scoring thriller this week, Ben Johnson proving as lethal as ever in front of goal, netting 6 in his teams 9 - 5 win. A.W FC were upset by last seasons Div One champions Great British Paving who cam away 3 - 1 winners to match Cardiac Arrest on 4 points. Puff Puff Pass got their 1st win of the season, beating Rapid Decline 5 - 0 thanks to two each for Ben Thomas and Jim Newman. Farlingtons were away this week so took the hit of a 5 - 0 loss to H & W Pigeons who now sit 3rd.
New side AFC Mole Hill made a good start to their Leisure Leagues journey with a 5 - 3 win over Peter File X1, Craig Marchant on target with a good hattrick for his team. It wasn't a dream start for our other new team OAP's FC who faced LP Underdogs, skipper Fenny Needham scored two on debut but a hattrick from Oakley Parnum meant that LP took the spoils 7 - 4 in the end. The high scoring continued in this division as Island FC, freshly promoted from Division Two proved too strong on the night for Six Bells Vets, Max Clapp with a hattrick to give Island FC a deserved win 8 - 5. The final game saw a tight 2 - 2 draw between Westy Utd and Swan FC. A result that leaves both these teams in the top 3 in the table, Ryan Christy and Alex Diaper each with a couple of goals in what was a great game between two good sides.
Kye Rovers lead Division Two after a couple of wins, this week via a points match due to SonsDads not being available to start until next week. Meat FC and Bottle Jobs are both just point behind having played out a classic 4 - 4 draw in their game, Bailey Kerridge on target for The Meats with all 4 of their goals. Westleigh Rovers got their season off and running with a 2 - 0 win against Leavemearcelona thanks to two goals from Aiden Griffiths and Willian You Mouth took the points from their match with WhatDivock FC after a 5 - 2 win, Sam Clarke among the goals with 2 while Harry Sutton was on target for Divock.
So the season is well underway now with a full set up of 24 good teams, so good to see and big thanks to Mike and the crew for managing the night. We look ahead to another great night in round 3 next Monday when we will welcome SonsDads to the match night for their 1st kick Vs Leavemyarcelona. Good luck to all our teams and have a great week.
