It's been a busy week for the league in Havant with big decisions being made over the structure of the league moving forward. All captains have now been informed about the adjustment to our playing times and the reduction in match fees, this will run until the end of the season at least when we will re-asses again before the next new campaign. As mentioned previously we appreciate the patience and understanding of our teams through what has been a frustrating and difficult time.
The season rolls on though and Monday night saw some great performances. The Prem is lacking teams meaning a number of points matches and not a lot of change to the league table, Puff Puff Pass did have a brilliant 3 - 3 game with Westy, goals from Toby Appleby and Jack Legg for Westy cancelled out by ones by Tom Newnham and Jamie Hounslow for Puff Puff.
Division One is definately a 3 horse race for the title and 2 from 3 will likely be promoted. OAP's had a good win over Smashers, coming away with the points thanks to a magical display in front of goal from Harry Potter who bagged 3 to help his side win 7 - 1 and stay top on goal difference. Kye Rovers are right there with them and again kept a clean sheet in their 4 - 0 win over Six Bells Vets Reserves, Harry Sutton in good form with 2 for Kye Rovers who are chasing back to back league titles. Hurricans had a 5 - 0 points win due to the gap in the league which I think might be filled before Monday with a new side interested in getting going soon. The 3rd team in the hunt for promotion and even to pick up the league trophy is Six Bells Vets who had another good win this week to stay in touch with the top two, Goals from Darren Wakley, Tommy Stevens and Michael McCready enough to grab the win 3 - 2 in what was a tight game throughout.
The Division Two title looks to be headed towards Bottle Jobs who won again this week and keep their 3 point lead at the top in tact, there is a long way to go still though and they will need to keep up the good form to secure the trophy. Mitchell Britton and Jordan Fisher both scored this week in their 2 - 0 win over Peter File. Meat FC aren't giving up any time soon though and their steady 5 - 1 win over Westleigh keeps them within striking distance of the leaders. Jo Gargaro, Mackenzie Moore, Ryan Christy and Tyler Carter on target while only Ronnie Payne's strike gave Westleigh reason to cheer. Lallana's picked up two more points in their promotion push with goals from Josh Lumsden, Tobie Appleby and Kieron Jasper enough to see off WhatDivock who's only goal came from the boot of Callum Murfin. New to Division Two this week were Tekkerslovakia who started with a 3 - 2 win over Willian Your Mouth, 3 goals from Two Cobbs doing the damage for Tekkers to get them off and running in this division.
Massive thanks as always to our brilliant team down at Westleigh Park, hopefully the changes we have brought in for this coming week and beyond are met with enthusiasm and we can settle into a better situation for the remaining weeks of the season.
Have a good one guys
