New Season of Havant Monday 6-a-side Football League Starts with a Bang
The first week of the new season of the Havant Monday 6-a-side Football League provided excitement aplenty, with high-scoring matches in all divisions.
In Division 1, El Pork Pies narrowly defeated Westy United with a final score of 3-2. The Smashers began their season with a clean slate, securing a 3-0 win against Emsworth 6s, while Leigh Park United enjoyed a slender victory over Rapid Decline with a score of 2-1. Puff Puff Pass also made their presence felt, thrashing Misfits 6-0. Liam Brewer from El Pork Pies led the division as top scorer with two goals.
Moving on to Division 2, Westleigh Rovers decisively beat Flamingo FC 7-2 while Smokin Jokers triumphed over Giroud Sandstorm with a robust 7-1 victory. The division's top scorer was Ronnie Wesley from Westleigh Rovers, netting an impressive three goals.
Division 3 saw some thrilling games as well. Saka Spuds edged out 2 Goals 1 Cup 5-4, while AFC Mole Hill showed their dominance with a resounding 8-0 victory over Barely Athletic. MoLeicester City also started strongly, defeating Man Tity 5-1. The standout performance in Division 3 came from Owen Murray of MoLeicester City, who scored an incredible five goals.
The most valued player of this week was Dale Marsh from Smashers. His sterling performance on the field was instrumental in his team's victory, and he's undoubtedly one to watch as the season progresses.
With such an electrifying start to the season, football fans in Havant have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks. Each division is packed with talent, promising an intense and thrilling season.
