It was another good night in Havant last night, especially for Division One leaders Kye Rovers who took another huge step towards securing back to back titles with a 6 - 1 win over Hurricanes. Jordan Evans took his season tally to 17 with a couple more for the league leaders with Harry Sutton and AJ King also netting a brace each. Of course it isn't decided yet with Kye Rovers still to play 2nd placed Six Bells Vets next week and then 4th placed Smashers on the final night but they go into those matches knowing that one win will be enough to lift a 2nd trophy in two seasons. Their position was strengthened by both the teams chasing them dropping a point this week, OAP's and Six Bells now both sit on 17 points following their dramatic 4 - 4 draw. Harry Potter netted 3 for OAP's while Tommy Stevens edged closer to the golden boot with 2 for Six Bells, backed up by goals from Lloyd Legg and Ben Bishop. Smashers enjoyed a great 5 - 1 win against the renamed RCFC this week, Craig Mansbridge scoring 3 and Jake Snook 2 for Smashers while Jack Carter was on target for RC. Emsworth Town made the move to Division One this week and started well with a 7 - 1 win over AFC Mole Hill, Ben Cooper the main man for them this week bagging 3 as they look to finish a challenging season on a high.
Division Two remains a two horse race but neither of the top two were able to make moves last night as both were held to tight draws to show how competitive this league is. Bottle Jobs remain strong favourites to lift the league title but they were held by 3rd placed Tekkerslovakia 1 - 1 and will be grateful to bottom side WhatDivock who played brilliantly to take a much deserved point from their game with 2nd placed Meat FC. Meat will see this as a big opportunity missed to to get within 2 points of the leaders but will remain hopeful of keeping the pressure on Bottle Jobs over the last two games. Realistically, Bottle Jobs require just a point as they boast a far superior goal difference in what has been an excellent season for the team.
Massive thanks as always to Mike and the team on the ground for making this week run smoothly as always. Obviously we are looking for some new sides to jump in and join our Premier League for next season, there may have to be some reshuffling ahead of the new campaign but any teams looking to get involved can get in touch now and guarantee a place in the upcoming season. We already have one old favourite lined up to return and hopefully a few more will get involved very soon. Well done to all our teams and good luck with your games next week.
