There was plenty of drama at the Havant and Waterlooville Stadium last night as leaders Warren Wanderers missed the opportunity to secure the title.
It looked done and dusted after 10 mins as they comfortably led 3 - 0. At that point the wheels well and truly fell off and Bombs, who took confidence from last weeks win began the fightback. A hatrick from Morgan Jenkins and 3 more shared between the Fry boys meant a stunned Warren Wanderers were defeated 6 - 5 and now need a win next week to pick up the Premier League Trophy.
Pushing them all the way are Cardiac Arrest and Barely Legal who were both dominant in picking up crucial wins. Cardiac Arrest over coming 4th placed Puff Puff Pass comfortably 5 -1 with James Crane standing out on the night. Crane scored one and was involved in plenty for Cardiac Attest who need Warren Wanderers to slip up again and to overturn a 2 goal deficit to pick up the trophy.
Barely Legal are right there too, they scored 6 for the 2nd week running, this time against Unais Frauds to bag the points and put them 3rd. The title isn't over for them either. defeats for the top two and a good win for them against PFR could see them as champions. So much still to play for as we reach the climax of this season.
It's less tight at the bottom of the table where Don't Go Nowhere and PFR look destined for the drop. Both sides came second in their matches last night, with Wilfred Bony's Boys doing the damage to PFR, Dan Langley bagging 5 to keep in touch with Brandon Miller for the golden boot.
Don't Go Nowhere will feel hard done by and as if often the case at the bottom, they will feel nothing has gone their way. Trailing 4 - 1 at half time, they staged a spirited come back and with a minute to play and the score 6 -5 they could have levelled only for a confusing whistle on the next pitch caused their player to stop, MK Dongs quickly settled it with a 7th in the final moments.
Moving to Division 1 where our exciting new sides all battled out some great games. Captain Cian Cleary scoring again for Chicken Tikka Mo Salah but it wasn't enough for LP Hit Squad who just edged it 2 -1 with goals from Jack Smith and Jack Mardell.
Brownie Boys bounced back well to grab the points against Balotelitubbies, who more than played their part in an end to end game where all 3 goals were pretty special. Brownie Boys keeper probably the difference with a string of excellent saves securing the 2-1 win.
Out of the league and putting in a practice game ahead of joining the division next season were Men Utd and West Lee Mack, both of whom look set to make a good impression on the leagues, they had a great game with Men Utd just nudging it 3 -2
So that's it as we look towards the final week of the season next Monday, it should be quite a night! Will Warren Wanderers do enough to lift the trophy?
