New Season, New Teams at Havant 6 a side

So, we go again as the brand new season of Monday Night 6 a side kicked off on the finest surface in the area at the Havant and Waterlooville Stadium.

We do have two spaces in the league now after the late withdrawal of Chicken Tikka Mo Salah so any interested teams should 100% get in touch and we can slot you straight in. Call Rob on 07967372473 or follow this link to register.

The 18 teams that took part included league debuts for West Lee Mack and Men Utd in the Premier League Along with Steaua Portsmouth and Bilbao Baggins in Division One.

We saw a quality night of 6 a side with some high level teams on show in what now seems to be two very competitive leagues.

1st up was
Unais Frauds vs  Balotelitubbies in what was a controlled game, with very little between the teams. BTT benefitted from having a larger squad and their subs made the difference with the energy to win a tight opening encounter 2 - 1.

Puff Puff Pass went down 3 - 2 to Don’t Go Nowhere who continued their form from the tail end of last season and become part of the early pack of leaders in the Prem. They did it the hard way having gone 2 - 0 down but fought back to win it in the last minute. Cracking game !

New boys Men Utd played their part in an energetic, faced pace season opener again LPHitSquad the game was end to end  and it took a last kick winner from Kai Gateshill to earn the points for LPHS. Both these teams should be right up there if they keep their squads together. LPHS off and running with the 2 - 1 win.

PFR 3 MK Dongs 2 was our next game as PFR started life in Division One strongly. Jack Heselwood was the star of the show for PFR in a well contested game. He scored the 1st hat trick of the season, one of which was a glorious touch and volley over the MK Dongs keeper.  Captain Morgan Easen amongst the goals for The Dongs.

Current Champions Warren Wanderers got off to a strong start and  showed their class against tough opposition in Cardiac Arrest. Two more teams that should be right up there at the end of the season given the amount of chances created in a well contested fixture.

Bilbao Baggins made a decent go of their 1st league game but owed plenty to their goalkeeper who had a great game to keep the experienced Bombs team out, making a string of fine saves. Finally five minutes before the end Bombs broke the resistance and netted two goals late on to win it 2 - 0

WilfredBony's Boys & Barely Legal finished last season level on points and were brought together again in their season opener. It was a cracking game with Barely Legal's Brandon Miller proving the difference in a very close affair. Miller continuing his goal scoring form to net twice and secure the early bragging rights in a 2 - 1 win

Rapid Decline debuted against Brownie Boys in the final game of week one.  It was a feisty fixture to end the evening with Brownie Boys deservedly coming out on top 3 - 0 to share the early lead in Division One. Smith, Jones and Dyer all opening their goal accounts.

So thats it, we are up and running with our 2nd season at Havant, thank you to all the captains for getting your payments sorted, especially those that did so nice and early, it really is a great help!

Great work from Mike for getting everything set up and for running the night, we welcomed Blair to our ranks as a new ref as we have now spread to 3 pitches so thanks to him and to Tom and Nathan for their continued efforts.

This is a great league now, lets keep it moving and enjoy the challenge on offer from such a strong standard of football.

Bring on next week !
