It was another electric night down at Westleigh Park last night as our Havant 6 a side teams all locked horns again for round 8 of matches. In the prem OAP's have quietly slipped ahead of 2nd placed Westy Utd. The team are on an incredible run of form that has seen them overtern both of last season top two teams in consecutive weeks. Tom Wray was the man in form last night, his well taken hat-trick enough to secure 2 more points and all but end Westy's hopes of a title win for another season. Cardiac bounced back from their defeat last week to beat Puff Puff Pass 5 - 1 and AW improved their chances of staying in the top flight with a comfortable 7 - 0 win over Kye Rovers.
Don't Go Nowhere won well against Smashers, Lloyd Legg on target twice as Don't Go Nowhere cruise towards the title and and a place back in the top flight. Meat FC denied Misfits their 1st win with a narrow 3 - 2 victory thanks to 3 great strikes from Bailey Kerridge while Rapid Decline picked up the points with AFC Mole Hill absent this week.
The promotion race is still very open in Division Two with PCS Vets and Westleigh battling to go up alongside TopG's and all 3 teams left with points last night to add to the pressure of the final weeks of the season. Liam Brewer bagged a hat-trick for TopG's in their 5 - 3 win over Leigh Park Utd while Gary Davies did the same for Westleigh as they defeated KFC Workers 5 - 2. PCS Vets took a 5 - 0 win after the late withdrawal of 2 Me 2 You.
Tekkerslovakia will be looking to end the season unbeaten having won all 8 so far and they are destined for a higher division next time around. Their 5 - 2 win over 2nd placed Giroud Sandstorm proving their dominance in this division. Haidon Davies slotted away 4 goals to push himself near to the top of the scorers chart while 2 goals from Harry Wareham put him level at the top with 14 in Dyslexia's 4 - 1 win over WhatDivock. WLR are still very much in the hunt for promotion and their 5 - 0 win over Barely Athletic came courtesy of 2 each from the boots of Josh Buck and Tom Titchmarsh making the last couple of games very interesting in this division.
Well done to all our teams and of course to our supervisor Mike and refs Mark, Jack and Nathan. Great job as always in one of the best south coast leagues that we operate.
Really looking forward to seeing how the last few weeks pan out before we did it all again with a brand new season in Havant.
