The Boston Monday 6-a-side league came back with a bang for another great season of football at the Haven High Academy.
In the Premier League, last season's runners-up Sons of Pitches got the action underway with a 3-0 win over Boom Xhakalaka, who also had a player sent off. Warrios and Allstars Romania locked horns in a titanic battle that ended in a 5-5 draw, while the reigning champs Boston FC were brushed aside by an inspired Bosh Squad, who won 4-1.
Division 1 action began with Tattoo Crew coming through an epic clash with FCHasbik, winning 5-4. Haven't Jota Kalulu cruised past Gylfi Pleasures 5-1, and Tekkerslovakia edged past Eldogs Mad Dogs 3-2.
Another tier below in Division 2, there was some more unbelievable football. Intermivan stole headlines as their promotion bid kicked off with one of the performances of the week across any Leisure League - not just Boston. They demolished Anything FC 16-1 to go top of the table. The Torettos kicked their season off with a 3-0 win over Dosser United, while Sands United Boston and Canastew Crew remained locked in at 3-3 come full-time after a wonderful match.
