End of Season Round Up of Heavitree 5 a side

So the 14 week season has ended at Exeter's 5 a side football league at Heavitree Social Club.

In an action packed season we saw Fiorentina Turner lead for most of the season before avoiding the media attention and open top bus trip around the town by gracefully pulling out of the league with one week to go. Sad to see the champions leave but it has opened the door to a new team to come in and join the league which is always great to see.

Man Chest Hair Utd finished 2nd with 19 points and managed to see off Oldham Pathetic 9 - 4 in the final game. Scorinbread United ran out comfortable 12 - 4 winners over Monster Villa who also bow out of the league at this point and our newest side Exeter's Young Boys will need to find their feet quickly for next season having gone down 10 - 2 against Steau Needarest who finished the season strongly and just outside of the bottom two. Silence of the Lahms picked up the points in their final game of the season against 5 A Cider in an goal fest that resulted in a 12 - 9 win for the Lahms.

So thats it, season done and dusted and for the teams bowing out, thank you for your involvement this season, we hope that one day you might be in a position to return to this great little league. Thank you to all the captains for organising your teams each week and to Neil our supervisor and ref.

The new season will start next week and the fixtures will be out very soon with a few new teams in the line up. Fingers crossed for another brilliant season and good luck to all the teams.

Cheers

Rob
