Exeter Sunday 5 a side end of season!
Week 10 of the exciting Exeter Sunday Football league offered a memorable conclusion to the season, as teams from the Premier League and Division 1 divisions battled for the championship titles.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League division, Receding FC showcased a dominant performance, securing a sweeping 11-2 victory over Steau Needarest. Sealing their season triumph, Receding FC finished at the top of the Premier League standings with an impressive total of 18 points and nine wins.
Taking centre stage in this victory was the league's top scorer, Ryan Clarke. Clarke's remarkable performance, scoring a total of eight goals, not only helped his team secure the win but also earned him the accolade of the most valued player of the week and joint Player of the Season along with Freddie Cotton of Sidmouth Slugs.
Elsewhere in the division, Pinhoe Dome Raiders outperformed RO Champions with a 10-4 score while Scorinbread United clinched a significant 9-2 victory against Oldham Pathetic FC to finish as runners up.
DIVISION ONE
Over in Division 1, Sidmouth Slugs emerged victorious in the title decider, defeating Smeg United with an 8-5 scoreline. Their victory was spearheaded by Tim Doulton and Freddie Cotton, who both netted a hat-tricks. Sidmouth Slugs ended the season as the division's champions with an impressive tally of 18 points and nine wins.
The season finale of the Exeter Sunday league offered an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork from all teams. As we bid adieu to this season, the exciting performances of Receding FC and Sidmouth Slugs, led by star players Ryan Clarke and Freddie Cotton respectively, will be remembered and set the tone for the next season.
