Exeter Sunday 5 a side news end of the season!

In the thrilling world of the Exeter Sunday 5-a-side Football League, the final week has decisively settled who the champions are. The exhilarating matches of Week 10 determined the winners of Premier League and Division 1, showcasing the best of grassroots football.

PREMIER LEAGUE


In the Premier League, Receding FC triumphed to retain the title, racking up a total of 18 points and securing 9 wins, a testament to their consistent performance throughout the season.  They concluded the season with a 7-2 win over Dusty Ballers, a game that showed their dominance.

A special mention goes to Nick Agnew of Whipton BBQ Kebab House CF who emerged as the top scorer in the Premier League this week. Agnew's hat trick against Scorinbread United was an admirable feat that underscored his skills as a striker. The tight 8-7 scoreline in that match was a testament to the competitive nature of the league as Scorinbread edged it to finish as runners up.

Another thriller completed the Premier League with the winner avoiding the drop. Smeg United came out on top against Steau Needarest 8-7, Steau will be looking to bounce back next season.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, Tig Bitty Goth Girls clinched the title with 16 points and 8 wins. Their 5-4 nail-biting victory over Robbenyourkids FC is a testament to their grit and determination this season that see's them lift the Div 1 trophy.

The top scorer's laurel in Division 1 went to Shay Corrick of PD, who scored an impressive 5 goals in their 18-6 win against new team Bumblebais. His striking prowess was on full display, contributing significantly to PD's dominance. However it was Stella Fella's who clinched the other promotion spot on goal difference from PD as they defeated Pinhoe Dome Raiders 7-3.

Congratulations to Ryan Clarke who clinched the Premier League Golden Boot with 32 goals for Receding FC while the Div 1 boot went to Shay Corrick of PD who scored an impressive 38. The Player of the Season award goes to Daniel Fricker of Scorinbread who picked up 4 MVP awards this season. 

As the Exeter Sunday League season concludes, both divisions have seen exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The teams have set a high bar for the upcoming season. Football enthusiasts and players will be eagerly awaiting the next season, hoping for more high-scoring games and outstanding individual performances.
