The ninth week of the Exeter Sunday Football League was a thrilling spectacle, filled with high-scoring matches, great performances, and a dramatic evening for the top scorers in the Premier League and Division 1.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier league, Scorinbread United gave an unforgettable performance by defeating Stella Fellas FC with a scoreline of 12-4. Jake Bayet, top scorer of the division, played a pivotal role in their victory as he notched up an impressive eight goals for Scorinbread United. Meanwhile, Smeg United also displayed their prowess by defeating Pinhoe Dome Raiders 6-2. The evenings biggest and closest game was the top of the table clash between Steau Needarest and Receding FC, with the latter clinching a narrow victory with a 3-2 score to leapfrog their opponents to the top.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, we saw yet another thrilling encounter between Whipton BBQ Kebab House CF and Queens Park Strangers. Whipton came out on top in a nail-biter, winning by a single goal in a 5-4 game. Lucio Gablinger, the top scorer in Division 1, was instrumental in the victory, scoring a total of five goals for Whipton BBQ Kebab House CF. Oldham Pathetic FC and Tig Bitty Goth Girls had a remarkable clash that ended in a 5-5 draw.
This week's most valued player was Fin Hobday from Tig Bitty Goth Girls. Despite his team's draw, Hobday's performance throughout the match was nothing short of impressive, demonstrating not only his individual talent but also his significant contribution to his team.
As we move into the tenth week of the Exeter Sunday Football League, we are eagerly anticipating the next round of matches. If the ninth week is anything to go by, we are in for a thrilling conclusion to this exciting season.
