OLDHAM PATHETIC CHAMPIONS

CONGRATULATIONS to Matthew and his Oldham Pathetic side on taking home the Exeter 5 a side league title, remaining unbeaten with a 100% record in an outstanding season of 5 a side in Heavitree. To play 14 weeks without slipping up or having a bad night is quite an achievement, well done to all the players that have been part of the squad and especially to Matthew for making sure his side never missed a game all season. The delighted captain had this to say about his teams successful season.

"Proud of my team to show true grit and determination through the season"

Fine words from the skipper and like all the teams their thoughts will soon turn to the new campaign.

The Elite finish second on 19 points as the race for the runners up spot remained exciting right to the end.  Their captain Marc Joslin picks up the Golden Boot to round off a fine season for himself and his team. Scorinbred and Devine Interception came 3rd and 4th respectively, seperated only by goal difference while Steau Needarest finish 5th just a couple of points behind. Of the teams at the foot of the table it was Ryan Giggs Top 10 Hits that remained just outside the bottom two on 8 points with Exeter's Young Boys behind them on 5 points. Cream Payet had a tough season and credit goes to them for sticking with it. Captain Ben Hocking has confirmed that this will be their last season in the league so we wish them all well in any future plans they have. A new side is lined up and ready to join the league so I will be introducing them shortly. So a brilliant season winds to a holt and i just want to thank everyone involved in playing for the commitment shown over the last 14 weeks. To the captains, you are all spot on, it's not always easy but thank you for the effort in getting your sides out each week and for responding to our communication about matches. Massive thanks to Neil for reffing and running the game nights each week, none of this would work without Neil's efforts so from us and also from the players, cheers Neil!

Next season start on Sunday, there is no break, we go straight into the new season and the fixtures will be out very soon.

Good luck to all our teams in the new season, can anyone take the title off of Oldham Pathetic ? We will see !

Cheers guys and congratulations again to Matthew and all the guys at Oldham Pathetic.
