It was a good night of football in our Tuesday evening 6-a-side league at Highfields School in Matlock with all teams in attendance with the exception of Stella FC. They notified our Head Office staff that they couldn't make their game but have confirmed they will be back next week.
Can all teams be reminded that if you are ever unable to make a game, please let our Head Office staff know so we can arrange a game for your opponents - if you can give 7 days notice you will also not be charged.
Last night saw some entertaining games being played out - following their narrow defeat last week, DDCC FC bounced back in impressive fashion with a 6-1 win over WheelPlant FC.
Dads Army Miners Welfare also won their respective game 2-0 against The Deadly Elements and are now joint 2nd with 3 teams on 9 points.
However, the game of the night saw a top of the table clash between Queens Park Strangers and Murder on Zidane's Floor. Murder needed a win to go level on points with the league leaders but it was QPS that came out on top with a convincing 2-0 win and they now are 4 points clear at the top!
At the halfway point of the season, Queens Park Strangers are still unbeaten and will be setting their sights on an invincible season. With an intense battle for 2nd place, will anyone be able to stop QPS in their tracks?
We are always looking for new teams and you can join our league by filling in an online team entry form via our website.
