THE MATLOCK TUESDAY: WEEK 14 ROUND-UP
The final week of the Matlock Tuesday 6-a-side football league concluded last night with exhilarating matches in both the Premier League and Division 1. It was the last hurrah of the season that entertained the audience with some spectacular gameplay and remarkable goals.
In the Premier League, Queens Park Strangers made an astonishing victory over Dakes Barmy Army with a 12-1 scoreline. Tom Savage stood out as the star performer for Queens Park Strangers, netting a fine hat trick to finish as the top scorer of the division. Boca Seniors and Reliving Our Youth FC presented a nail-biting fight that ended with a narrow win of 3-2 in favor of the latter. Meanwhile, Tansley Dragons FC emerged victorious over Wigan Pathetic by a one-point margin, the game ending 3-2.
Moving on to Division 1, Ballers Brigade FC triumphed over Stagger Inn with a comfortable 3-1 win. Jacob Silcock, the key player for Ballers Brigade FC, bagged two goals to end up as the top scorer in this division. Going Toulouse won their clash against Dimple FC with a 3-1 scoreline, while FC Matlock and WheelPlant FC drew with a 1-1 stalemate.
The league ended with Queens Park Strangers and FC Matlock winning their respective divisions. QPS dominated the Premier League with 28 points and 14 wins, while FC Matlock clinched the Division 1 title with 21 points and 8 wins.
The most valued player of the week, Brad King from Tansley Dragons FC, was awarded for his exceptional skills and contributions on the pitch.
