New Chatham Monday 5 a side season kicks off!

In the exhilarating world of local football, the Chatham Monday 5-a-side league kicked off its season with a slew of riveting matches across three divisions, all showcasing the raw talent and competition that makes this league a local favourite.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, Nigel Bens XI made an emphatic start, defeating Cadiz Nuts CF 6-1, setting an impressive tone for the season. Beercelona and Borstal Bums also triumphed in their respective games against Young Boys CF and Holcombe Goons. The highest-scoring match was between Pheasant Pluckers and Bligh A Side which ended with a nail-biting score of 7-6 in favour of Bligh A Side. Ralph Bradford from Borstal Bums emerged as the top scorer of Division 1, netting an impressive 4 goals in his debut match of the season.

DIVISION TWO

Over in Division 2, the standout game was between Skinners FC and Selecao which ended in a thrilling 8-6 victory for Selecao. Jagdip Dhandaal of Selecao was the star player, scoring an impressive 5 goals to become the top scorer of Division 2. Cokane United are top after a 5-0 win over Gayson Mount, Scottswood won 3-2 against Workrate while Unathletico Madrid defeated Macs 4-2.

DIVISION THREE

Division 3 also witnessed some exciting football as Snus Warriors, Maroon 5, and G Čech FC all emerged victorious in their respective games. The match between Maroon 5 and Get Your Scally Out FC ended in a closely contested 6-5 win for Maroon 5. The standout player of Division 3 was Alex Lawrenson from Maroon 5 who scored a total of 4 goals. Snus got the better of Tekkerslovakia 8-2 while G Cech FC drew 3-3 with new boys Club Tropicana Drinks FC.

With such an electrifying start to the season, local football enthusiasts are anticipating an exciting ride in the Chatham Monday 5-a-side league. The top scorers from each division have certainly set the bar high, and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
