Chatham Thursday 5 a side news | WEEK 1

The long-awaited Chatham Thursday 5-a-side Football league kicked off last night, marking the beginning of an enthralling season to come. The competition got off to a flying start with two divisions, Division 1 and Division 2, witnessing nail-biting encounters and applaudable individual performances.

DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Mac 4 made a strong statement early in the season, overcoming Rochester FC with a commanding 9:3 scoreline. An unforgettable performance from Ashley, who netted an impressive four goals, played a pivotal role in Mac 4's victory, making him the top scorer in the division. The other match in this division saw a fierce competition between Rice Spice and Radar Raiders, with Rice Spice narrowly claiming victory at 7:6.

DIVISION TWO
Turning to Division 2, it was Net6 N Chill who had an impressive start to their campaign, beating Dyslexia CF 6:4. Tyler Bell, who scored four goals for Net6 N Chill, was undoubtedly the star of the match. His exceptional performance not only placed him as the top scorer in Division 2 but also earned him the coveted title of the Most Valued Player of the week.

As the league is only in its first week, there are plenty of matches and potentially thrilling moments left in the season.
