Football fans, mark your calendars as the much-anticipated Chatham Thursday 5-a-side Football league season kicked off yesterday with a nail-biting set of matches. As the floodlights flickered on, the players lined up, ready to showcase their skills and sportsmanship.
DIVISION ONE
Division 1 started the season with an electrifying face-off between Rochester FC and Mac 4. Mac 4 demonstrated their determination and grit, securing a 4-2 victory over Rochester FC. The second match of the division saw Rice Spice going up against the formidable Radar Raiders. In a shocking turn of events, Radar Raiders managed an impressive 11-4 win, setting a promising tone for their season.
DIVISION TWO
In Division 2, Perrys earned a narrow 5-4 victory against the Weedwooders in a match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. The excitement didn't stop there. Double Pogba And Koke clashed with Elysium, defeating them 12-5 in a high-scoring game.
This week's star player, and rightly so, was Daniel Bowes from Radar Raiders. With an astounding 6 goals, Bowes claimed the title of top scorer in Division 1 and was also named the most valued player of the week. His performance has set a high bar early on in the season. Dane Beard from Perrys followed suit in Division 2 with an impressive total of 3 goals, making him the top scorer for his division.
The thrilling start to the season has set the stage for exciting games ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as the Chatham Thursday 5-a-side Football league continues. Who knows, we may see more from Bowes and Beard, or perhaps a new star will rise. One thing is for sure, we're in for an exhilarating season.
