In an adrenaline-filled week 16 of the Horwich Monday 6-a-side Football league, football enthusiasts were treated to a spectacle of exciting football matches in Division 1. Purple Ake and HornDogs produced a nail-biting encounter with HornDogs clinching a narrow 1-2 victory. Meanwhile, FillmewithMorecambe pulled off a remarkable 3-2 victory over Stranger Mings, a match that saw Mick Adams of FillmewithMorecambe named as the most valued player of the week, thanks to his incredible performance.

The closing match of the week was a dominant display by Blackrod Phoenixes who triumphed over The Local Idiots in a 6-1 victory. Despite the defeat, The Local Idiots showed great sportsmanship and spirit and will be looking to bounce back in the coming weeks.
