Portsmouth Wednesday 6 a side news - match day 4

In the riveting week 4 of Portsmouth Wednesday Football League, the Division 1 teams showcased exemplary talent and sportsmanship. The matches held last night were nothing short of extraordinary, with each team displaying their unique strategies and robust gameplay.

DIVISION ONE

One of the most thrilling matches of the night was between AFC KARKEY and Crosshill FC, both teams battling ferociously to a 6-6 draw. Each goal was countered with another, keeping us on the edge of our seats until the final whistle.

Barely Athletic FC also turned heads with their 4-2 victory over Hippopotapearce FC. The team demonstrated a stunning defensive display, keeping their opponents at bay while effectively capitalizing on their chances.

However, the talking point of the evening in division 1 was the emphatic victory for VAFC. VAFC triumphed over VN Portsmouth with an impressive 9-1 scoreline to rise to the top of the table. Unknown left us in awe with an incredible 18-1 victory over Six Sexy Soldiers in the other game.

The man of the moment was undoubtedly Kyle Wesley from Unknown. Scoring a whopping 11 goals in a single match, Wesley became the top scorer of Division 1 and the most valued player of the week. His breath-taking performance, exploring every inch of the field and exploiting every opportunity, led Unknown to their astounding victory.

This week’s matches have set a high standard for the season, we were left wondering what further excitement Division 1 of Portsmouth Wednesday Football League holds in store. Will Wesley continue his hot streak, or will new challengers emerge? Only time will tell in this thrilling battle for football supremacy.

Thank you to Mike for running the evening and to Brad for reffing. Thank you to all of our players and good luck next week!
