The Portsmouth Wednesday 6-a-side Football League reached a breath-taking climax on week 6 of the season with some excellent games. We also saw 3 of our new teams in action who came in for friendlies last night.
DIVISION ONE
VAFC remain top in Division 1 with after a astonishing 15-1 victory against Crosshill FC. Archie Tanner lead the charge, netting a total of 5 goals and earning his place as top scorer in Division 1, showcasing his clinical finishing and innate footballing prowess.
In a high-octane showdown, second place Unknown emerged victorious over Hippopotapearce FC with a 6-4 score line, demonstrating a strong performance that further intensified the competition in the league.
However, the spotlight was stolen by VN Portsmouth, who secured a decisive 10-4 triumph over Six Sexy Soldiers. The stellar performance of the entire team deserved applause, but it was Hoang Phung who stole the show and was rightfully awarded the Most Valued Player for the week. Phung's display of exceptional skill, relentless energy, and tactical acumen was pivotal to VN Portsmouth's success.
As this week concludes, the teams will now set their sights on the next round of fixtures. They will be hoping to build on their performances, with the aim to climb the Division 1 table. Let's keep our eyes pealed for next week's action.
Thank you to Mike for running the evening along with our refs Brad and Nathan. Thank you to all our players and good luck next week!
