It was a brilliant evening of action at Lichfield Leisure Leagues on Monday Evening. We were delighted to welcome two new teams to the league, Surreal Madrid and Thursday Club.
All teams were in attendance as scheduled with the exception of Colonel Getafe who return to competitive action next week. We thank all teams for their continued support and reliability as always.
In the Premier League, SHOW ME THE MANE beat league debutant Surreal Madrid in a 6-3 victory . Pjanic At The Disco edged past Weasels 4-2, making it back to back victories. Meanwhile, Inter Yanan were very impressive as they clinched a tightly-fought game against APFC, securing a crucial 2-1 win that could prove significant in the title race.
Division 1 also witnessed its share of excitement. Wooleys Wanderers fought to a 2-2 draw against Slick Ricks Army in an entertaining match. League leaders Yes Chef sizzled on the pitch with a resounding 4-0 victory over Barely Athletic, while Dog Inn FC outclassed Pique Blinders 2-0. The last game of the division saw MK Dongs narrowly win against Exeter Gently with a scoreline of 3-2.
In Division 2, Noels Rejects narrowly defeated Busby Babes 2-1 in a nerve-wracking encounter. Murder On Zidanes Floor and Sutton Sounders were evenly matched, ending the game with a 0-0 draw. Inter MaVan and Reus Krispies played out a seven-goal thriller that ended 4-3 in favour of Reus Krispies to keep their 100% record intact. The final game was a nail-biter with ICE PACK emerging victorious over Thursday Club 3-2 to make it three wins from three!
