It was a fantastic evening of football at Lichfield Leisure Leagues on Monday with all teams in attendance as scheduled. We were delighted to welcome two new teams, Mere Green F and Baloteletubbies.
In the Premier League division, Yes Chef edged out Pique Blinders in a nail-biting 3-2 victory, while APFC triumphed over SHOW ME THE MANE with a decisive 1-0 win. The matches between Inter Yanan and Exeter Gently, and Out On Bale and Barely Athletic both ended in 1-1 stalemates, leaving the competition wide open for the coming weeks.
Moving over to Division 1, Weasels experienced defeat at the hands of Colonel Getafe, who secured an impressive 5-1 victory to move into top spot. In another match, Thursday Club demonstrated their promotion credentials with a 6-2 win over Mere Green F. Meanwhile, MK Dongs and Finley Fiddlers saw a tightly contested match, with Finley Fiddlers emerging victorious with a 2-0 scoreline. The match between ICE PACK and Parks Poachers ended in a goalless draw.
Last but not least, the Division 2 matches saw high scoring games with notable performances. Inter MaVan beat league debutants Baloteletubbies 6-2, while Club Tropicana Drinks FC registered a 13-1 win over Marodinner, making them the top scorers of the week across all divisions. Inter Row Z fell to Weegion 2-0, whilst Special Olympiakos claimed a 4-0 win against Sutton Sounders.
