In the opening week of the Guernsey Wednesday 6-a-side Football League, the competition was kicked off with a bang as teams across the Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2 divisions battled it out on the field.

In the Premier League, Los Diablos set the tone with a convincing 2-0 victory over Baines On Toast. Too Many Flutes FC also staked their claim with a 3-1 win against Spacejam FC. However, the stand-out performance came from Les Green Mango FC who ruthlessly dispatched Bossolona with a 7-0 triumph. In the other fixtures, Aztekkers edged out Class On Grass 3-2, while Substandard Liege, featuring the week's Most Valued Player, Samuel Van King, overcame One Foot In The Grave with a 3-1 scoreline.

Division 1 saw Pelé Galaxy CF start their season with a 4-1 win over KPMxG. Football Club FC managed to squeeze past Ran Out Of Mane with a 2-1 victory, and Brentford Rejects claimed a narrow 3-2 win against Exeter Gently. Egg Fried Reus fell short against Burnley Babes, losing 1-5. In a tight match, RC FC managed a 3-2 win over Tiki Tekkers.

In Division 2, FC Augsburg and Purple Reign could not be separated, ending in an exhilarating 5-5 draw. GUERNSEY ACADEMICALS made a strong start with a 3-0 win against 2 Girls 1 Schlupp. Cherry-Poppers and Lochness Donkeys shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw while Wasted Talent trounced AAFC, 7-1. The match between AFC Pornmouth and Bitcoin ended in a 1-1 draw.

As the season has just started, teams are looking to establish their positions and set the pace. With players like Division 1's Most Valued Player, Samuel Van King, showcasing their talent, it's clear we are in for a riveting season.
