The new season of the much-anticipated Bristol Thursday 6-a-side Football League kicked off last night with some exciting matches across three divisions: Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.
In the Premier League, the first match of the season saw a valiant fight between Beercelona and Inter My Gran, resulting in a narrow 2-1 victory for Inter My Gran. The second game of the evening witnessed a single-goal triumph from Only Kruls And Horses against Doves FC, ending the match at 1-0. However, the highlight of the night was undoubtedly the stunning performance of 40 Wan Bissaka, who thrashed Give Us A Goal Then with an impressive 5-1 scoreline, setting the bar high for the rest of the season.
Over in Division 1, Love You FC and Fruity Fives couldn't break the deadlock and ended their match in a goalless draw. Glitters U11s and Skull-It FC also shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw. Kundan Kali FC, however, managed to scrape a 1-0 win against Doves FC Reserves.
Finally, in Division 2, Leavemyarsealona recorded a 3-2 win against Give Us The Ball Then, while FC Finest outperformed Shooter Tooters with a 4-2 victory. The last game between The Goblins and Gavin was a hard-fought draw, with both sides scoring a goal apiece.
As the season has only just begun, it's still all to play for in the coming weeks. The top scorers for each division, at this early stage, are 40 Wan Bissaka for the Premier League, Glitters U11s and Skull-It FC for Division 1, and Leavemyarsealona and FC Finest for Division 2.
Football fans across Bristol are eagerly looking forward to next week's fixtures, anticipating more thrilling performances and goal fests as teams compete for the top spot in their respective divisions.
