In the first week of the highly anticipated Margate Monday 6-a-side Football League, teams from five divisions showcased an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork. No games were played in Division 1, but there was plenty of action in the other divisions.
Division 2 kicked off with a high-scoring contest between Siggs Aside and 2 Goals 1 Cup, with Siggs Aside taking the honors in a 5-2 victory. The second game was a nail-biter as Send Umtitis edged past Crystal Phallus with a narrow 6-5 win.
Division 3 saw defensive excellence from Broadstairs Bumders who managed to keep a clean sheet and edge past South Park Boys 1-0. In other matches, Evan Burgerson FC and FC Bumders dominated their games against Margate 18s and Minority FC respectively, each notching up an impressive 10 goals.
Division 4 witnessed Thunderbuddies storm past Birchington FC with a 5-0 triumph, while Plough Town FC put up a commanding performance, defeating Classic VI 9-1.
Division 5 had an enthralling encounter between The Blues and Nasty Girls, with the latter emerging victorious in a 16-goal thriller, winning 9-7. Strokes Golf FC also grabbed headlines with a convincing 7-2 win over Antony Fan Club.
The top scorers of the divisions were Siggs Aside in Division 2, Evan Burgerson FC and FC Bumders in Division 3, Plough Town FC in Division 4, and Nasty Girls in Division 5.
