Last night marked the seventh week of the highly competitive Margate Monday 6 a-side Football league. With the pressure on and adrenaline pumping, every team fought hard to secure their victories and climb the division rankings.
In Division 1, the teams battled it out fiercely but ultimately, the games ended in a draw, leaving the rankings unchanged. The teams demonstrated resilience and an enviable level of endurance.
Division 2 saw a riveting change of events with Expected Toulouse narrowly missing out on victory to 2 Goals 1 Cup, which finished 3-2. The match between FURYS and Crystal Phallus ended in a landslide victory for Crystal Phallus, who managed an impressive 10-4 win. However, the highest scoring game in the division was between Send Umtitis and Siggs Aside, which concluded at 10-5 in favor of Siggs Aside.
The Division 3 matches were equally thrilling. FC Bumders and Broadstairs Bumders had an exhilarating faceoff which ended in a narrow 7-6 victory for FC Bumders. Jim'll 6 It also clinched a decisive 10-5 victory over Evan Burgerson FC, while Minster Mashers and South Park Boys settled for a 5-5 draw.
In Division 4, Margate 18s suffered a heavy defeat against Birchington Fc, losing 8-2. Packet Inn Fc suffered a similar fate, losing 5-3 against Thunderbuddies. Plough Town FC however, managed to secure a 3-1 victory against Classic VI.
The Division 5 games were fraught with tension. WeHateCakesFC and Hammer Time FC ended in a stalemate with a 7-7 draw. Strokes Golf FC was beaten by Flea N Fellas in a close match that ended 3-2.
As for top scorers, Division 2's Crystal Phallus and Siggs Aside were joint top with a total of 10 goals each. In Division 3, Jim'll 6 It took the lead with 10 goals. Thunderbuddies from Division 4 were top scorers with 5 goals, while in Division 5, WeHateCakesFC and Hammer Time FC shared top spot with 7 goals each.
