Play in the Margate Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

MARGATE – The Margate Wednesday 6-a-side Football League kicked off its new season with a series of thrilling matches across Divisions 1, 2 and 3. Fans were treated to a display of skill, tenacity and sportsmanship as teams vied to take home the initial points of the season.

In Division 1, TWS started the season off strong with a convincing 2-0 win over Furys, showing their dominance from the onset. Meanwhile, The Akatsuki and TGFC 6’s engaged in a seven-goal thriller, with TGFC 6’s emerging victorious with a narrow 4-3 win.

The drama continued in Division 2 as Scads FC and 2 Goals 1 Cup battled in an eight-goal spectacle. The match ended in favour of 2 Goals 1 Cup with a 5-3 triumph. Non Bibs edged out Bumfica 2-1 in a tight contest, while Garden Bar FC secured a narrow 5-4 victory over Goals Aloud FC in a match that had spectators on the edge of their seat till the final whistle.

Division 3 saw Windmill FC producing a dazzling performance with a whopping 16-0 victory over 6IX NETS FC, the highest scoring match of the night. Elsewhere, PLAY DIRTY bested Broady Boys 5-1, while Hells Angels fell to Efes FC in a close 3-2 encounter.

As the dust settles on week one, the top scorers for each division stand out. In Division 1, TGFC 6’s lead the pack with 4 goals. Division 2's top scorer is 2 Goals 1 Cup with 5 goals, while Windmill FC tops Division 3 with a staggering 16 goals.

The season is still young and it’s all to play for in the coming weeks. If the opening week is anything to go by, players and fans alike can anticipate a thrilling season ahead in the Margate Wednesday 6-a-side Football League.
