Gadders go clear after Unreal slip at Squirrels!!

In the heart of the action, the Melton Mowbray Thursday 6-a-side Premier League football experienced a thrilling fifth week.

Unreal Melton clashed with Flying Squirrels in a match that ended 1-3 in favour of the latter. Despite the valiant efforts from Unreal Melton and Wiggy Hebb's single goal, the Flying Squirrels' tactical prowess and a goal a piece for Alfie, John P and Steph combined with cohesive team play gave them the upper hand.  Unreal were missing a number of their starting line up including Jack as he's still hungover from his stag-do 3 weeks ago ...... elbow my a**e!!

Meanwhile, Gopping Lizards secured a late victory against Midlife Mavericks, winning the match 2-0. Gopping Lizards' Andrew Shaw, celebrated as the most valued player of the week because he paid off the ref, He does have exceptional balls-handling skill tho.  Midlife were unlucky not to secure their first point of the season.

Newcomers Expected Toulouse faced a tough match against Gangsters Alladyce, which ended in a staggering 6-0 win for Gangsters. The Premier League witnessed a spectacular performance from Cameron Doleman of Gangsters Alladyce, who scored four outstanding goals, making him the top scorer in the Premier League.  Expected Toulouse played valiantly in borrowed boots - next week lads, next week!

Gadders FC also managed to secure a win against our newest team Generations. Danny W has tried (unsuccessfully) to hang up his whistle and join as a playing team and their baptism of fire against top of the league could've been massive upset.  Generations were one goal up in the second half and it took all the skill and patience of an in form Gadders to turn the tide and end with a final score of 3-1.   Tom H  was voted MOTM with 2 goals.

Huge shout out to all players who turned out for a rival team.  Harvey needed oxygen by the end of his third match!

The fifth week of the Melton Mowbray Thursday 6-a-side Premier League illustrated the passion and talent of these local teams. This week's matches have laid the foundation for an exciting season ahead, filled with expectation and anticipation for the fans and players alike. As the season progresses, we look forward to more gripping football, exceptional team play, and individual brilliance.
