Get well Lukas!

Unfortunately last night in our Thursday night league there was a very serious and distressing incident involving an Ivory Toast player, Lukas Jonassen.

Whilst waiting to come on the pitch Lukas collapsed, suffering what has now been confirmed as a cardiac arrest.

Fortunately Lukas is now conscious in hospital with his family and friends.

This may not have been possible without the actions of all our teams at the league, who stopped their games and immediately ran over to Lukas' aid.

It is believed that Lukas technically died twice on the pitch last night, but was saved with emergency CPR by Michael Swain and Thomas Dunning. It is looking like these players actions as well as numerous others at the league who called ambulances and alerted the NK staff, are responsible for saving Lukas' life.

We will be sending a card and flowers out to Lukas and any messages of goodwill sent on here will also be passed onto him.

In terms of the league, the results from the first games on will stand from last night. Every other fixture has gone down as 0-0. When the reverse fixtures commence on the 4th October, these will count as double points games (4 points for a win, 2 for a draw) for all the teams that did not play last night.

Lastly I would like to extend our thanks to our staff members who aided in Lukas' recovery, and in particular to Guy and Wayne who stayed at the venue for the duration of the league night to inform teams arriving there would be no further football.

Thankyou
