It was a good evening's football to kick off the new season in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, the only exception rather surprisingly being Tekkerslovakia, who will be spoken to accordingly.
Good news for the league though, in addition to the two debutant teams who joined us this week just gone, we welcome another new team to the league for Sunday 21st January, and we wish Lads on Toure the best of luck going into their debut game in Division Four!
On the pitch, in the Premier Division, Wanyamas In Pyjamas demonstrated their dominance by outscoring FC POSITIVITY 4-1. THE ALLIES FC and Jack's Army also took decisive victories, tallying 7-2 against Gylfis Young Boys and an impressive 8-0 against Misfits respectively.
Division 1 started with an emphatic performance from Norfolk N Chance, who shutout Extra Special Ones with a resounding 9-0 victory. Murder On Zidanes Floor also made their mark, beating Hardly Athletic 3-0.
In Division 2, Ricky Spanish FC and Beduff Rangers shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, while Pain In Dias and Kevos Kids triumphed 2-0 against Borussia Teeth and Eric Bantona, respectively.
Over to Division 3, The Griddlers and AFC Windmilldons settled for a 1-1 draw. Birdies Boys demonstrated their superiority, logging a 4-0 victory over NetSixAndChill, while Kroos Control FC narrowly defeated EEFC 1-0.
Division 4 witnessed high-scoring matches, with Blue Crown FC taking a commanding 8-0 victory over Tuffnells FC, while Real Sosobad edged out Rainbow Sparkles 6-4 in a goal-laden encounter.
