Nuneaton Sunday Football League Kicks Off Season with Exciting Matches
It was a fantastic opening night in the newly extended Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches across all four divisions, the only exception being Globogym who were away on holiday, but return to action on Sunday 23rd July!
In the Premier League, Lad On Toure emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over Birdies Boys. Leading the goalscoring charts in this division are the players from Misfits, who secured a convincing 3-0 win against Dixy Pigeons. Meanwhile, THE ALLIES FC and Wanyamas In Pyjamas fought hard, ending their match in a well-deserved 1-1 draw. Borussia Teeth also had a successful start, overpowering Jack's Army with a 3-0 victory.
Division 1 witnessed some impressive performances as well. Unipart United showcased their skills with a dominant 5-0 win over Egg Fried Reus. The BackStreet Moyes secured a 5-2 triumph against Extra Special Ones, and Gylfis Young Boys narrowly edged out Homo Sissoko with a 3-2 victory. FC POSITIVITY, on the other hand, played an intense match against Kroos Control FC, resulting in a goalless draw.
In Division 2, Tekkerslovakia secured a narrow 1-0 win over Hardly Athletic, while Sky Blue Army dominated Tuffnells FC with an impressive 5-0 victory. Rainbow Sparkles and Kevos Kids had an intense clash, with Rainbow Sparkles emerging as winners with a 2-1 scoreline.
Division 3 also featured some standout performances. The Griddlers displayed their prowess with a commanding 4-1 win over Bank FC, while Set 8 secured a 1-0 win against Do-little FC. Schindlers Assist showcased their attacking prowess with a resounding 4-0 victory over KBTS. Finally, Murder On Zidanes Floor had a goal-fest, demolishing Ricky Spanish FC with an emphatic 8-1 win.
