It was a slightly disjointed evening in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with several teams failing to attend their matches. We are extremely disappointed to have to remove a total of four teams for their failures to attend, some for the second week in succession. Set 8, Kroos Control and Remdog United have all been removed with immediate effect, none of which had the courtesy to inform Head Office they would not be attending their fixtures.
Kevos Kids have also withdrawn after completing their two week withdrawal notice.
We are confident the spaces that have came available will be filled quickly in the coming weeks, and ask all teams to have some patience as we aim to recruit new teams ahead of the new season campaign.
On the pitch, In the Premier League, the stakes were high but the goals were nowhere to be found. The tension was palpable as every team held their ranks, reminding us of the fierce competition that has characterized this season.
Division 1 saw a flurry of goals, with the Gylfis Young Boys outplaying AFC Windmilldons in an 8 - 1 victory and Misfits clinching a decisive 5 - 1 win against Britannia Draculas FC. The battle for the top spot in Division 1 remains intense, with every goal counting.
Division 2's Expected Toulouse was narrowly beaten by NetSixAndChill in a 2 - 1 match. But the highlight of the night was definitely Pukka Chronics' dominating 8 - 2 win over Extra Special Ones, a clear sign of the team's ambition.
Blue Crown FC and Imatch FC, in Division 3, locked horns ending in a 2 - 2 draw, leaving both teams in a tight race for the title.
Division 4 had its fair share of thrilling matches with EEFC and Eric Bantona each scoring 6 goals against Rainbow Sparkles and Real Sosobad respectively. Tuffnells FC were also on the losing end of a 6 - 0 demolition by Ricky Spanish FC.
We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Nuneaton's premier providers of small sided football!
