It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for their matches barring a late cancellation from new team Birdie's Boys on the day. They had only been put in the league on Friday afternoon and didn't quite have enough to start this week. However, they are confirmed to kick off on Sunday 26th June and we wish these the best of luck in their debut game!
The Allies got a big win this week to keep their title aspirations alive as they comfortably beat Globogym Purple Cobras by a 6-0 scoreline, whilst Jacks Army stay third after winning an entertaining encounter against Yerr by 4 goals to 3. Elsewhere No Cup FC got their second win on the spin as they recover from a slow start to the campaign, they were 2-0 victors over Up the Tics.
Hardly Athletic stay top of DIvision One after grinding out a second consecutive 2-1 win, this week over Misfits in a closely contested game, whilst second placed Emile Sniffs Snow got back to winning ways after last weeks goalless draw, they were 1-0 winners over Dixy Pigeons in a tight game. Egg Fried Reus and Extra Special ones had to settle for a point a piece as they ended in a 2-2 draw, whilst Sky Blue Army's first points of the season came in style as they romped to a 5-0 win over Rainbow Sparkles.
We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability and look forward to seeing all teams in attendance for game week 7 with Nuneaton's premier providers of small sided football!
