Sunday 26th January - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a great start to the new season in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their scheduled fixtures, including new team Reiss' Set Pieces who played their first fixture with us since moving over from the Tamworth Sunday league.  They were 2-1 winners over Dixy Pigeons in a hard fought first game.

Last seasons champions Exeter Gently suffered a shock 4-2 defeat against Mass Debaters this week as they look to better their third place finish last season.  Newly promoted Misfits also won in their first game in the Premier Division after they edged past fellow promoted team Cheeky Milandos 2-1.  Elsewhere, Inter YN squeezed past Jacks Army by a single goal, whilst Sky Blues and Boogaloo couldn't be separated as their game ended 1-1.

Other results in Division One saw Extra Special Ones secure a comfortable 4-0 win over Flash's Young Boys whilst Hardly Athletic were 4-1 winners over Egg Fried Reus.  Finally, Slippery Gecko were 3-1 victors against Borussia Teeth as both teams start their first full campaign in the league having joined towards the end of the last season.
