Sunday 27th February - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was another good evening's football this week in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some excellent games played across both divisions.

3 Lions put in a five star performance this week as they were 5-1 winners over Jack's Army to extend their perfect start to the season into a fifth consecutive match, meaning they are now four points ahead of second placed Borussia Teeth, who lead a trio of teams locked on six points.  Borussia were 1-0 winners over Yerrr this week in a tightly contested game, whilst fourth placed Exeter Gently got their third win on the spin this week, thrashing Cheeky Milandos by a 7-2 score line.  Up The Tics completed the action in the division, moving up to fifth place and keeping Hardly Athletic in the drop zone, whom they edged past by a single goal this week.

In Division One there is a new leader, as The Purples sit a point clear following their 4-1 win over Extra Special Ones, keeping up their perfect start to the campaign.  No Cup FC went from scoring for fun to being shut out this week, as Dixy Pigeons put in a gutsy performance against the team who'd scored 43 goals in four game before this week, holding them to a goalless draw, Dixy's second in a row. 

Elsewhere Egg Fried Reus moved into third place, leapfrogging this weeks opponents in the process, as they picked up an impressive 2-0 win over Misfits.
