Sunday 28th July - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for their matches barring a cancellation from Borussia Teeth, and also from Pain In Dias who were away on holiday, both return as normal this weekend.

Unfortunately, Sky Blue Army have requested to withdraw from the league due to a lack of players.  New team Britannia Draculas join into Division One and Kingsmill 50-50 move down to Division Two to replace the outgoing team.

Kicking off the night's action, the Premier League saw a tight match with THE ALLIES FC edging out Norfolk N Chance with a 1-0 victory. It was a closely-contested game, highlighting that every goal is crucial in this division.

Treading into Division 1, AFC Windmilldons displayed admirable strategy and control, securing a 2-0 win over Kingsmill 50-50. Misfits stole the show, with a 4-2 victory over Kevos Kids. Gylfis Young Boys made a strong statement with a 6-0 triumph over Beduff Rangers, marking one of the highest scoring games of the evening.

In Division 2, Expected Toulouse narrowly triumphed over Set 8 with a 4-3 win in a nail-biting match. Pukka Chronics made their presence known with an impressive 6-0 victory over Sky Blue Army, while Extra Special Ones and NetSixAndChill ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving both teams with a point to add to their tally.

Division 3 showcased some closely-contested games, with Blue Crown FC eking out a 4-3 win against Remdog United. Kroos Control FC narrowly beat Rubbergently 3-2 in a tense match, while Imatch Fc emerged victorious over Hardly Athletic with a 4-3 win.

Finally, in Division 4, EEFC dominated with a 7-1 win over Ricky Spanish FC. Real Sosobad proved too strong for Tuffnells FC, delivering a 6-0 defeat. The last match saw Eric Bantona beat Rainbow Sparkles 1-0 in a nail-biter.

We wish all teams the best of luck going into the next round of fixtures with Nuneaton's premier providers of small sided football!
