Sunday 5th January - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good return to action for the new year in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league with all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night, including one new team in each division.  Slippery Gecko in the Premier Division who were beaten 3-1 by Mass Debaters, and Borussia Teeth in Division One who beat Extra Special Ones 2-0.

In the Premier Division, top of the table Exeter Gently were beaten 2-1 by Boogaloo FC, however Jack's Army's 1-1 draw with Hardly Athletic means they should still safely win the title.  Sky Blues drew 2-2 with Inter YN which means there are four teams still fighting it out for second place going into the last 2 games of the campaign.

In Division One, Misfits sealed promotion this week with 2 games to spar as they recorded a 2-1 win over Dixy Pigeons, their next target will be to seal the title.  Cheeky Milando's 5-1 win over Egg Fried Reus keeps them in second place though and they too will be looking to win the league.  They will no doubt be buoyed by the defeat of Extra Special Ones who sit in third place.  Finally, Flash's Young Boys won the battle of the bottom two as they beat 5 and a Half Men 3-1, who played their final game with us this week.
