Sunday 9th January - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, as we returned to action for 2022 with some entertaining matches played!

Exeter Gently went top of the Premier Division this week as they secured a 2-0 win over Up The Tics, whilst Hardly Athletic's 1-0 defeat to Misfits sees them drop to second place in an ever congested Premier Division.  Jack's Army moved into third and above Cheeky Milandos who they thrashed by a 6-2 score line, whilst 3 Lions beat bottom of the table Egg Fried Reus 3-1.  Incredibly there are seven teams separated by just four points in this division which keeps it interesting for all involved!

The clash of the top two in Division One was anything but close this week as Yerrr went back to the summit and above The Purples, whom they thrashed by a 6-0 score line.  Borussia Teeth moved to within a point of the promotion places on the back of that result, as they ran out 2-0 winners over Muff Munchers FC.  Extra Special Ones moved up to fourth place with a 3-0 win over Dixy Pigeons who drop to sixth, whilst No Cup FC ran out 3-1 winners over Rainbow Sparkles in an entertaining encounter.
