It was an excellent evening's football in the Walsall Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night, barring Hens Notting Some Dykes Forest and a late cancellation from Neuer Gonna Give You Up who are due to return on Monday 24th January.
We welcomed three new teams to the Premier Division this week which is fantastic news! They had mixed fortunes but all looked as though they will compete in the division. Four Crosses first result was an impressive 5-0 victory over promoted No Fuchs Given in a game where they looked a force to be reckoned with. Corn Swingers had possibly the toughest start they could've had, against runaway champions Expected Toulouse, and went down 5-3 in a thoroughly entertaining match, one in which they were leading for a period of time. RGP also had a tough game against an experienced Warts side who ran out 7-2 winners, but it was a game in which the score line never did their performance justice. All three teams will have reason to be encouraged for the remainder of the campaign.
Another new addition this season was Chase FC, who played out a very competitive match against Walsall Arms, who eventually ran out 4-3 winners in an end to end encounter. Budgie Neck completed the evening's action in the division as they beat newly promoted Langers 5-1.
Dijk In Dias won their second game in a row in Division One, as they were 3-1 victors over Pablo Esco's, they are the only team in the division to win their opening two. The battle of the two promoted teams from Division Two ended all square, as Croft VI and Shelfield Wednesday played out a thrilling 3-3 draw, whilst recently relegated Psycho Dean's Australian Army keep up their unbeaten start to the campaign, following up last weeks draw with a 3-2 victory over The Balotellitubbies. Hong Kong Vesey got their season up and running as they were 4-2 victors over Class on Grass who remain pointless after the opening two.
Fat and Furious have started their Division Two campaign off in relentless form, they followed up last weeks 6-0 win over OK with an even better 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Meth Palace (formerly Rushall Rovers) this week! Beercelona lumbered more misery on the aforementioned OK this week as they thrashed them by an 8-0 score line. Exeter Gently have had an impressive start to the campaign too, they were 5-0 winners over Stella Courtois, whilst Tea and Busquets ran out 2-1 winners over an experienced Vegas Degenrates side. Pique Blinders registered their first victory of the campaign as they were impressive 5-0 winners against Stella Courtois.
As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
We wish all teams good luck going into game week 2 with Walsall's premier providers of small sided football!
