It was a good evening's football to kick off 2023 in the Walsall Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance across all four divisions for the first games of the new year.
Budgie Neck look a good bet to retain their title in the Premier Division as they got a sixth win in seven, a 10-1 win over Vegas Degenerates this week. Stroke Titty remain on their tails though and were big 10-2 winners over WillianDiaz in a surprisingly one sided game. Completing the divisions action was Last Chance U who also claimed a hefty 7-1 win over bottom side Unathletico Madrid, a result which propels them into third.
Undateable FC are on the hunt for back to back promotions, and now lead the way in Division One after a 2-0 win over Hong Kong Vesey, putting them top on goal difference after Wiggins Tiny Pinner were held to a 1-1 draw by Dijk In Dias. Elsewhere new team Chris Ning played out a ten goal thriller against long serving Shelfield Wednesday, as the two had to settle for a point apiece in a 5-5 draw.
Langers continue to lead Division Two but were held to a 2-2 draw this week by third placed Tea and Busquets who themselves chase a promotion place. Sandwiched between the two is Euro Anchor who moved into second spot after inflicting a third consecutive defeat on Save Shane's Turtle, 7-0 the final scoreline as Shane's season seems to be capitulating at the crucial moment. Duke of York got their second win in two since joining, and it was another goal fest, with them running out 13-6 winners over Balotellitubbies.
Dad Bods 100% season in Division Three carried on into week 7 as they were 3-1 winners over Arbo FC this week as promotion looks as good as sealed. Inter Ya Nanny remain in second and look a good bet for promotion as they cruised to a 5-1 win over Croft VI, whilst Six Offenders won a thriller against Beercelona by an 8-7 scoreline!
We wish all teams good luck heading into game week 8 with Walsall's premier providers of small sided football! As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league, please contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
