It was an excellent evening's football in the Walsall Monday 6 a side league this week as we returned to action following the Bank Holiday break. We were pleased to see all teams in attendance for their matches barring Balotellitubbies who have confirmed their return to action on Monday 16th May.
There was change at the top of the table this week as Four Crosses went to the summit after they ran out 6-4 winners over Edwards Allstars in an end to end encounter, whilst The Warts were beaten 4-2 against No Fuchs Given to drop to second. Third placed Expected Toulouse appear to have lost the chance to retain their title this season after they were beaten 6-4 against Budgie Neck in another thriller. Other action saw new boys Pickle's Army win their first game against another recently joined team, they were 5-2 winners against Bag of Chips, whilst it was honours even between RGP and Gangsters Allardyce as the bottom two shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Top of the Division One table Psycho Dean's haven't taken their foot off the gas since promotion being confirmed, they came from behind to beat Croft VI 5-1 in a game that was more competitive than perhaps the final score suggests. Pique Blinders are making a late charge for promotion as they smashed Shelfield Wednesday 13-2 to sit two points off second spot. Blakenallontour also remain with an outside chance as they won a thrilling encounter against Last Chance U by 8 goals to 6. Completing the action for the division was Hong Kong Vesey who confirmed their safety for next season, winning an entertaining encounter against Undateable FC 3-2.
Fat and Furious continue their Division Two dominance, showing no let up as the season draws to a close, they were 3-0 winners against Tea and Busquets this season as they look to rack up as many goals as possible in the final two games. There was a big result in the race for second place this week, as Exeter Gently moved into second place, after beating Vegas Degenerates 4-1, dropping them to fourth place as Beercelona also leapfrogged them in the table following a 4-1 win against Class on Grass. Two points now separate three teams who are battling it out for second. Other results saw Ji Sung-Chen record a comfortable 3-0 win against OK, whilst Ball of Duty ran riot against Mike Shamoley running out 15-5 winners in a thoroughly entertaining affair.
We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league as we head into the final 2 weeks of the season, and wish all teams good luck in game week 17 with Walsall's premier small sided football providers!
