The Walsall Sunday 6 a side league was back in full swing on 14th May, with some thrilling matches played on the fantastic 3G surface at Oak Park Active Living Centre. With two teams having to cancel their games, the remaining teams took to the pitch with great enthusiasm, providing some entertaining football for the spectators.
The first match saw Odegaardians of the Galaxy and Pique Blinders clash in a nail-biting encounter that ended in a 3-3 draw. Both teams put in an impressive performance, but it was the debutants, Pique Blinders, who stole the show with their fantastic display of skill and teamwork. The match was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, with both teams taking turns to dominate the play. In the end, a draw was a fair result, and both teams can be proud of their performance.
In the second match, Leave Me Barcelona faced off against Sporting Stonnall, who were looking for their first win of the season. Stonnall proved too strong for the opposition, putting in an excellent display to secure a 5-2 victory. It was a historic win for Stonnall, who had not won a match in 17 games. Their persistence and hard work paid off, as they finally broke their dry spell with a convincing win. Leave Me Barcelona, on the other hand, will have to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
Overall, it was a fantastic day of football, with some excellent performances from all teams involved. The league organizers would like to thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league, which has made it a great success so far. If any teams need to get in touch about their team or the league in general, they can do so by contacting Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340 (Local Rate) or by emailing [email protected].
The league now moves on to game week 8, and we wish all teams good luck going forward in what is Walsall's premier and exclusive provider of small-sided football.
