Welcome to the match round-up for the Walsall Thursday 6-a-side league, held at the premier venue in the area, Oak Park. Although Stroke Titty was absent due to a late 11-a-side fixture, the other seven teams displayed their commitment and enthusiasm, making the evening a great success.
The first match of the evening was between Unprotected Cesc and Dude Where's My Ladders. The game started with a bang as Unprotected Cesc quickly established a two-goal lead within the first few minutes. However, Dude Where's My Ladders responded positively and managed to level the scoreline by the end of the first half. The second half saw end-to-end action, with both teams playing at a high tempo. Unprotected Cesc eventually prevailed, scoring the winning goal with just minutes left on the clock. The final score was 5-4 in favour of Unprotected Cesc, who we must congratulate for securing the league title with a game to spare!
The second match was between Ball of Duty and Schmeichel Jackson. Ball of Duty started the game on the front foot, putting pressure on their opponents' defence. Their persistence paid off, as they scored two quick goals within the first five minutes. Schmeichel Jackson tried to mount a comeback, but Ball of Duty's defence held firm, and they managed to score two more goals in the second half. Schmeichel Jackson scored a consolation goal towards the end, but it was too little, too late. The final score was 4-1 in favour of Ball of Duty.
The final match of the evening was between Taccy Rumpas and Bryan Munich. Both teams were evenly matched, and the game was a tight affair from start to finish. Neither team managed to break the deadlock, despite some good chances on both sides. The match ended in a goalless draw, with both teams sharing the points.
