It was an excellent evening of 6 a side football in the Walsall Thursday league this week with all teams in attendance across both divisions on the opening night of the season!
In the Premier Division last seasons champions Dynamo Red Bellies started the new campaign off with a 2-0 win over one of the new teams, Oak Park Penguins. It was a closely contested match up and with four new teams in this seasons Premier Division it is likely to be a competitive division as two other matches finished level.
Rude Van Nipplejoy, another new team drew 2-2 with AFC Bagheads in an entertaining affair, whilst Man Titty and Lights Kamara Action cancelled each other out in a match up that ended 0-0.
50 Shades of O'Shea top Division One by some distance in week one, this after they made light work of new team Lads on Toure in the season opener, 13-0 the full time result. Lallanas in Pyjamas made an early statement in their first league match with us, they beat FC Winners 7 by 5-1 and sit in second place.
There were two 2-0 wins to complete the evenings action in Division One, Welch Wanderers and Anonymous FC beating Moleicester City and Blackcountry Lads respectively by the same scoreline in what promises to also be a competitive league.
We wish all teams the best of luck going into next weeks matches with Walsall's premier small sided football provider.
