Play in the Telford Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
Excitement continues to build as the Telford Sunday 6-a-side Football League enters its second week. Teams from the Premier League and Division 1 showcased their skills in an exhilarating set of matches, with plenty of goals and top-notch performances.
In the Premier League, a hard- fought encounter saw The Colonels narrowly defeating Hardly Learning FC 1-0. Having missed a number of chances and been repelled by a strong Hardly defence, Harry struck late on to secure a narrow victory.
Meanwhile, UNATHLETIC BILBAO continued their positive start to life in the Premier League with a 4-1 win over newcomers Jelly Baby FC. A double from marksman Liam and further goals from Brad and the highly impressive Samuel Bottomley were enough to ensure they made it 2 wins from 2. Jelly Baby responded with a great goal from Henry and will look to find their feet quickly next week in search of their first victory.
Rowdy FC also made their presence known with a high-scoring 4-3 victory over current champions Polonia Telford FC, in a back-and-forth match that had us all on the edge of their seats. Polonia raced into an early 2 0 lead but Rowdy came roaring back into the game with a fine second half performance. Goals from Liam, Reuben and a brace from the tricky Matteo were enough to secure the tightest of vicctories with Matteo seizing upon a mistake late on the grab the winner. Polonia, who will be disappointed not win this one having dominated for large periods, scored their goals through Marcin K, Przemyslaw and Michal and will now look to get back to winnings ways next week.
In Division 1, The Dogs Ballacks managed to secure a decisive 4-1 win over Inter The Pub. The star of the show was Jack Lovett, who scored two goals, earning him the man of the match award. A further impressive double from Kalvin put Ballacks out of sight before a late consolation from Brad for Inter the Pub
The Telford Sunday League continues to serve up excitement, and it's clear that the season is shaping up to be a memorable one. As the teams continue their journey, their performances promise more thrilling matches and unforgettable moments in the upcoming weeks.
