In a thrilling second week of the Telford Sunday 6-A-Side Football League, teams in both the Premier League and Division 1 divisions delivered engaging performances.
In the Premier League, The Colonels had an outstanding victory over Hardly Learning FC with a scoreline of 5-1, thanks to the sparkling performance of Harry, who netted three goals becoming the top scorer in the Premier League division this week. Further goals from Harvey and Matt put gloss on the scoreline with Tom responding for Hardly Learning.
In a tighter match, Brexit Beautys and The Bailiffs FC fought to a stalemate, as they drew 1-1. Bailiffs deservedly led through Alek but Brexits fought back to equalise with a well-taken goal from Henry.
Meanwhile, the impressive POLONIA TELFORD FC showcased their title credentials with a dominant victory over Blocko FC. A strong all-round performance with goals from Marcin, Marcin K and Przesmyslaw ensured Polonia sit top after 2 games. Blocko battled throughout but were ultimately stifled by their opponents.
In the evening's friendly match Rowdy FC saw off Tea and Busquets with a dominant 5-0 win. The hugely influential Mal bagged himself all 5 goals as the Rowdy boys romped to victory.
Meanwhile, in Division 1, Simon from Sunday Sixes emerged as the top scorer of the week, after netting three goals and leading his team to an impressive 6-0 triumph over Inter The Pub. Sixes showcased their ability across the park putting in a terrific display with Inter the Pub unable to recover from a poor start. Further goals from Dan, Craig and Mac added to the scoreboard. Inter will look to regroup after winning and losing 1 of their opening 2 matches.
The Dogs Ballacks also put on a strong display, beating Real Estates with a 5-1 victory. The win was owed to fast start with a flurry of goals from Jack, Josh and Smart. Real Estates worked their way into the game and actually played well for the majority after recovering from their poor opening. A well taken goal from Alfie gave them a consolation.
In another exciting match, UNATHLETIC BILBAO secured a 3-1 win against Pretty In Pink. A double from Liam and a goal from Tom gave them a comfortable victory. Pink responded through Ryan and fought hard throughout but came up a little short in this one.
Time will tell how these results will shape the upcoming fixtures, but one thing is for sure – the competition is heating up in the Telford Sunday 6-A-Side Football League. We are eagerly looking forward to the next round of games.
