Play in the Telford Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
In an exhilarating week 3 of the Telford Sunday 6-a-side football league, teams in the Premier League and Division 1 divisions battled it out in a series of intense matches that left spectators on the edge of their seats.
In the Premier League division, Rowdy FC edged past Hardly Learning FC in a tightly contested 2-1 victory. Liam and Cal netted a crucial goals for Rowdy FC as they kept up their early season form. It was also an excellent performance from Hardly Learning, who showed signs of getting back to their best form. A goal from Sam gave them hope but Rowdy just about edged it to take the points.
Meanwhile, early pacesetters POLONIA TELFORD FC demonstrated their defensive prowess with a solid 2-0 win against tricky opponents - The Colonels. The excellent Kamil and Przemyslaw grabbed well-taken goals as Polonia kept their lead at the top on goal difference from Rowdy FC. Colonels showed glimpses of quality going forward but could not break down their well-structured opponents.
However, it was Blocko FC that stole the show with their thrilling 3-2 victory over The Bailiffs FC, marking a memorable night for the team and terrific response to their set back against Polonia Telford last week. Goals from Ben, Chad and Sam were enough to see off spirited Bailiffs who netted through Shariq and an own goal to set up a nervy finish.
Over in Division 1, Tea And Busquets impressed with a decisive 3-1 triumph over Pretty In Pink. A composed double from Jack and a further goal from Adam was enough to secure the 2 points. Pretty In Pink responded through Ryan and will rue missed opportunities to further reduce the deficit.
UNATHLETIC BILBAO showed their dominance with an astonishing 4-0 win against Inter The Pub. Goals from Tom, Thomas and a brace from Liam grabbed a fluent victory for their side. Inter The Pub were competitive throughout but could not beat goalkeeper who made some good saves to deny Inter a way back into the game.
Sunday Sixes squeaked past The Dogs Ballacks in an end-to-end 2-1 victory. In a really tight match, both sides had their chances with Ballacks taking the lead through Josh. Sixes responded well with a goal from Craig before Tyler won it for them late on with a crisp strike. The result gave Sixes top spot in the early season table with Bilbao and Tea and Busquets tucked in just behind them.
