New Telford Sunday 6 a side Season Begins with a Bang

Play in the Telford Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues

The opening week of the new Telford Sunday 6 a side Football league season came to a thrilling conclusion last night, with teams from the Premier League and Division 1 divisions battling it out.

In the Premier League division, newly promoted UNATHLETIC BILBAO edged out Hardly Learning FC with a scoreline of 2-1.  Well taken goals from Liam and Marcel were enough to take home the points with Ethan replying for Hardly.

However, the highlight performance of the night came from current champions Polonia Telford as they convincingly beat Colonels 4-1. Krzysztof Olesinski stole the show as he led the score charts, netting two exceptional goals, with further goals from Przemyslaw and Marcin K. Bobby pulled one back for Colonels but they couldn't match their opponents on this occasion.

Switching gears to Division 1, The Ercall Ultras made their intentions clear with a solid 4-1 win over Inter The Pub. A fantastic hatrick from Sam was enough to ensure they began with a strong victory. A depleted Inter the Pub, who got 1 back through Harry, will look to respond next week when their missing players return to action.

Meanwhile, The Dogs Ballacks also managed to secure a win, albeit a narrow 1-0 victory against Pretty In Pink. The winning goal was scored by the impressive Josh Pritchard who gave his side a winning start to the new season with a well taken strike.

In the last match of Division 1, Real Estates overcame Tea And Busquets with a 4-2 win and in doing so secured their first league victory. It was a fantastic moment for Mark and his side who have been close to victories in recent weeks. A huge shout out goes to them as they secured the win with doubles from Michael Machin and Jay. Busquets grabbed goals through the impressive Adam, who helped himself to a double but it was not quite enough on this occasion.

As the season has just started, it's too early to make predictions, but one thing is clear - the competition is fierce and each team is giving it their all. The Telford Sunday 6 a side Football league promises to bring more excitement and dynamism in the coming weeks.
