Superb Action in the Telford Sunday 6-a-side League

It was another fantastic evening of competitive action at Oakengates Leisure Centre this week as the Telford Sunday 6-a-side league begins to take shape.

In the opening match of the evening Hot Water Bottlers recovered impressively from last week's set back with a handsome 11-0 victory over Tea and Busquets. Starting aggressively, Bottlers came out of the blocks quickly against their opponents opening up a comfortable lead by half time. Busquets battled hard but ultimately ran out of energy allowing Bottlers to add to the scoreline in the second half. There were standout performances across the park but Elliot stood out the most, bagging 4 goals in all round terrific performance.

 In the second match of the evening, early pacesetters Bassetts Allsorts put in an exceptionally strong performance against Killy FC securing a 3-0 victory. Killy showed flashes of great skill but couldn't break down the solidly organised Bassetts side who were equally potent in attack. Charlie showcased a superb all round game to bag man of the match in his side's victory.

 In the evening’s final game, newcomers Pablo FC put on a fantastic debut performance to beat Hardly Learning FC by 10 goals to 1. In a sublime all round performance, striker Callum helped himself to 5 goals with Matteo also bagging himself a hatrick. Hardly gave everything but ultimately couldn’t live with the skill of Pablo’s dangerous attack.

 Overall, another superb week of football action here at Oakengates Leisure Centre. We are on the lookout for additional teams and single players to join our brand new league.
